I guess you have a hard time recognizing who the middleweight champion is.

As an AA fan, I feel like until he beats Pavlik, which I think he is capable of, he is still the 2nd best middle in the world. Pavlik beat THE man!

What if Top Rank refuses to put Pavlik against Abraham as seems to be the case right now? At some point Abraham must pass Pavlik in the rankings if he is not man enough to face the only real challenge he has at middleweight. There is no other fights to be made in the division and its a joke that Arum is avoiding it.

    Interesting list,vhb!

Duddy at 13? Hm! Where is Golovkin?

I have no problem with Pirog at 11,but he would probably beat the better ranked Griffin,Asaikinen, and Castilljejo even at this early stage of his career.

Say Wright/Williams have a close fight, with either victorious, where would you place them?

I like Gevor at 5, I think he is particularly underrated.

Towards the end I'm not sure how you'd justify some of those guys over a special looking prospect like Golovkin. It's not as if they have done more, and they are certainly not as impressive.

Gennady Golovkin, Elvin Ayala and Domenico Spada are fighters that MIGHT belong in top20, but I was too shy to place them.

Wright and Williams, the winner of their fight, I would place right after the world champs, #4.

Depending on the margin, the loser could end up #6 after Mundine then.

Duddy I gave credit because he is undefeated and has faced more known names than guys below him. I´m not sure how well those young european guns could handle Campas or Eastman. Those are the sort of fighters who do expose limited talents like Spada.

Pirog you can´t rank ahead of recent EBU and World Champs like Asikainen and Castillejo. Asikainen-Gevor was a close fight for most of the time. Castillejo got destroyed by Sylvester, but he has proved himself for numerous times.

Any list that has AA at #1 is plain foolishness. Abraham holds a title that Taylor VACATED. Pavlik beat Taylor twice. Arthur has rarely been in the same room with a fighter of that quality, let alone the same ring. Judging by his resume', and Sauerland's insistence on pricing AA out of a Pavlik fight, I doubt if he'll ever fight a world class opponent.

castillejo is still a top 10 fighter? that shows the lack of depth in the division

Pavlik beat Taylor who beat Hopkins who was undisputed...

Arthur won the vacant title against Kingsley Ikeke and has made only 2 defenses worthy of being called a "World title fight" and both of them were against Edison Miranda...

    Pavlik is the champ.

You are certainly right inasmuch as Castillejo and Asikainen should be placed ahead of Pirog - based on achievements, but based on future potential, talent, and present ability- I for one would rank him ahead on aforementioned fighters.

On the other hand Duddy's present fight record isnt that much better than Golovkin's one,and there is no doubt who of this pair is the more promising middle weight.
