Vic Darchinian v Evans Mbamba

The fella on the right is nick durandt. He's had a stack of world class sth african fighters/ champions in his gym over the years.

 

Well, Vic didn't really manage any better than Tomas Rojas did against Mbamba.

Unanimous decision (I had it a shutout, 120-106) with two knockdowns scored and very nearly a couple more.

Mbamba was tough but negative. He and his corner seemed proud to go the distance.

Darchinyan threw a ton of punches, but just couldn't bring about the big kibosh.

Both men sustained bad cuts, although it's hard to tell if they were from punches or the many head clashes that the two scrappy southpaws shared about equal blame for.

In a post-fight interview, Vic stated he plans to focus the remainder of his career on fighting in the USA and preferably Las Vegas. He may have suited up for the last time on Australian or Armenian soil.

 

The fight served its purpose.

Vic stayed busy & Armenian fans got to see him in action first hand.

That it went 12 rounds was an added bonus for both Vic & the fans. An early blowout would have been a bad result all round.

Mbamba showed plenty of grit & earned his money as far as I'm concerned.

Word is Vic has a Showtime date in December in the US but no opponent. Someone who owns a major belt needs to go down to the hardware store, purchase a screwdriver & reattach their testicles so Vic can fight them.

i hope he gets another title shot for his next one, i think he knows the carreer is coming to a close, hence the fight on aussie soil & the fight in armenia, i think its great he has done this for his fans, im sure he will give us some more entertaining fights,.
