One of the worst topics I've seen for a long time. Are you seriously asking me who wins between a 115lb hard-hitting weak chinned fighter, and a 126lb harder hitting better chinned potential HOF?
VD has the potenial of being a 4 division champion...he could be a hall of famer soon. that is if he ducks donaire
3 Potentially if he avoids Montiel at 118. There is absolutely no way he takes a belt at 122 unless he beats that guy with the WBC.
the top 122 pounders would move up...for sure izzy, ponce de leon and rafa after a long lay off won't drain themselves to 122...attack the 126 division...there is no talent there
Why are people suddenly thinking Darchinyan can actually be a big player at 122-126 when the highest he's fought up o now is at superflyweight? It's one thing to float your name against the big names a division or two higher, it is called promotion, but for people to collectively forget there's such a thing as proving yourself first? At least Hamed proved he had fightchanging power at these weights. Vic hasn't even stepped in against a superbantamweight. Why does everyone think he'll be competitive with a Hamed when his power couldn't even put away Arce who for all his toughness has never ventured beyond bantamweight.
Is this a P4P matchup or a H2H? Vic would be prime at 115. Naz was probably at his absolute best at 122 - having filled out from fly, before he stopped seriously training and had to move up. Unless you had a granite chin or were great defensively you were busted up by Naz and knocked out..... Vic isn't blessed with a granite chin, and with Hamed's reflexes in top form he wouldn't be able to find Naz all that often. I'd say Vic gets stood on his head for about five rounds before being beaten down and stopped.
