VIC DARCHINYAN: "DONAIRE'S NOT A BETTER FIGHTER THAN ME"

"I got hit by Nonito Donaire by accident. He’s not a better fighter than me, but sometimes in boxing, you lose to someone that’s not better than you. I thought I had him hurt and so I went in to finish the job and he hit me with a left hook," stated newly crowned IBF super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan as he talked about about his prior loss to IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire. Check out what else he had to say as he talks about his impressive win this past weekend against Dmitri Kirilov, his future plans, including his desire to unify the titles with WBA & WBC super flyweight champion Cristian Mijares, and much more.

Darchinyan is very good with alot of power. He could clean out the lower weights. I believe he WAS beating Donaire prior to getting caught. But he is getting up there in age.

darchinyan is delusional. the kirilov win, does'nt show us how he'd deal with the top fighters at 115. nonito would spark him again. probably more brutally than the 1st. a faded castillo owns his ass.

Vic is a good fighter but will always lose to guy like Donaire with great skills and can counter. He's delusional if you ask me. Donaire's KO over him was probably the best one of 2007.

Darchinyan is out of his mind ... he left himself open and he got caught ... it wasn't an accident ... it was his fault because of his lack of good defense and boxing skill.

Donaire would knock him out again --

Seems to me we already have a system for determining who is the better fighter, we call it "fighting".

Darchinya sucks ... he has power, but outside of that - he has nothing to offer. No defense, no chin, and no boxing skill ...

When he throws he leaves himself open ... and anyone with the ability to throw a straight punch will make Vic pay for that ****. (just like he did against Donaire)

Montiel, Arce, Donaire, and Mijares will knock him out ... hell I even think Carlos Navarro might get a chance to take that title from Darchinyan.

i was at the fight on saturday and darchinyan did look explosive but i was surprised by how awful kirilov was

there is no doubt in my mind that any of the top tier guys would own him, especially if they have a physical size advantage like donaire had and counter at a distance... vic has not improved his defense at all since the donaire loss as far as i can tell

What ever happened to the one Darchinyan knocked out? Did he survive? Issac Bustos??
