He's not the best ACTIVE welter, but many still think he's the best. Anyway, sterile and boring debate. The real question is: is Darchinyan currently a better super fly than Montiel? Answers based on conventional technicalities aren't helpful in determining this. If Montiel said he could no longer make weight at superfly for all intents and purposes, that would settle the matter, of course. But just because he's decided to fight at a higher weight doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't fight at super fly successfully anymore. Perhaps I'm out of the loop and you know something I don't, though, of course.

Montiel is moving up because he can't make weight. Even if he could make weight, once you leave the division, you are no longer a part of that division.

you're the one who wants a debate. I was just pointing out that Darchinyan is pretty much the only undisputed champion in boxing today
