Many are under rating his boxing ability. Darchinyan does have a jab and uses it pretty effectively, POSITIONING himself for his power shots which are by far the best of the lower weights.

His style is unorthodox and his arm movement is often used as feints and to block shots. Vic Darchinyan is a bad ass in the lower weight classes. IMO best Flyweight out:good Could rule that divison for quite sometime, if he chooses to stay there.

I just can't understand how he can manage to be succesfull with that style. Anyone with half decent skills should be able to counter him to death but it just doesn't happen

Darchinyan is way underrated by so many on here.
He is avoided greatly, coz of his unique style which obviously has flaws, but he is greatly entertaining.
Stalks his opponents down & shows no fear.
Awesome to watch & 1 of my favourite boxers at the moment.

Let me guess, you loved PBF vs ODLH.

Vic is exciting and KTFO people. He will have difficulty against a good boxer puncher who can make him miss and who can hurt him.

I want him to fight Arce.

They have but they all eventually get caught by Vic's punches flush and crumble away.

Vic would get schooled badly if he went up to super flyweight against the likes of Montiel,Mijares,Munoz Navarro,Gorres, and Nashiro.

The Arce fight is the only one that seems perfect for him at super fly.

I feel dumber every time I read your posts.

Vic put a hard KO on Pacheco who is one of the best boxers in the divison and was making something like his 6th defense of the title.

Vic is MUCH better defensively then people give credit for. He is just unorthadox. He judges distance well and still times his punches. He doesn't just rush in like Hatton. He is never going to be the next WHitaker, but you can't judge his defence by conventional methods.

He is great at using angles, and disguising his punches as well. He will hold that lead hand out and use it to blind you from the cross which comes boring in.

He mixes a good hook off the jab and also can make some good work to the body. He wll beat Mijares IMO, because Mijares sits there to be hit, and will stay at jabbing distance which is suprisingly where he likes to fight.

Vics biggest weakness is his lack of in fighting ability, and I think style wise Arce would give him a tougher fight. He seems to have trouble getting backed up even against the likes of Burgos on the few times he moved forwards. He keeps his hands low in close which just doesn't work. Even Roy JOnes who was very unconventional would always tighten up his guard in close quarters.

The only other style I see giving him real trouble is a mayweather like mover. Guys like Mijares will match up very well style wise.

Well he's never been down amateur or pro so I would think he has a good chin.

Anyone who thinks Vic lacks skill has NO analytical ability when it comes to the fight game. Either that or they have seen 5 seconds worth of highlights and are just speaking from ignorance.

He has sound fundamentals. Anyone who knows about his amateur career knows this. He can box.

His style becomes unorthodox when he has measured an opponent and knows he can start toying with them. He then turns on his "bully style". Even still, his defense is sound, but it's based on distancing and movement rather then holding his gloves up.

Seriously - if you think this guy lacks fundamentals, or skills, then you dont know **** about boxing.
