I just saw this on Fightnews . Vic hasnt held back giving it Donaire.
I dont think Donaire will fight Vic, there are easier fights out there for the Flash, the only lure for Donaire is that Vic is a primetime TV fighter and Donaire hasnt cracked it yet on the major networks.

This would be huge if it comes off. Lets hope !!!

    GO THE RAGING BULL !!!!

WBA/WBC super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan is after a rematch with Nonito Donaire, the current WBA interim super flyweight champion. Donaire, who holds a KO win over the hard-punching Australian-based Armenian, and will defend his belt against Gerson Guerrero on a February 13 pay-per-view card in Las Vegas.
“Donaire needs to stand up and fight someone who can actually throw some punches back at him,” stated Darchinyan. “Since he fought me, who has he fought? Bums that either shouldn’t be boxing or should be retired. I am praying he wins his next fight and comes through with no injuries, I don’t want him making excuses when I finish his career. Don’t go looking for Arce and make that a excuse of why won’t fight me. Get through your next fight and it’s me and you, anytime, anywhere.
He continued, “Stop running and saying there were rematch clauses and you wanted to fight me. I would have fought you the next day if I had my way. The people around you care about your career they know if you fight me you will be knocked out. Now you’re fighting junior flyweights and you think you’re a champion. Your opponents are hand picked to make you look good. You’re a fraud and you’re fighting bums. I promise I won’t make the same mistake again. I made you and I will break you and expose you for the fraud that you really are.”

Vic's got a big mouth. Donaire will smash it shut again imo.

Does Vic really take him?? I'm asking objectively.

I've noted on another post that it's big props for Vic wanting the bout so bad, but Donaire did ice him up huge and I would hate to see Vic's blood boil over again and come out swinging like a 'raging bull', and Donaire do what he does best, which is wait and pick him off - big!

Debate question - have we seen Vic improve enough that we think he's better equipped to deal with this?

Against Agbeko we didn't and yet the last fight, I actually thought the other guy was winning until Vic did catch him (fair play to Vic).

    Thoughts???

****off Ash, don't be a dick.

I've been very fortunate to have met Vic and allowed in to watch him spar at his gym and it's a privilge to have been so close to a true world champion. (More so than your Australian Idol!)

I'm asking a fair question and open for debate.

Debate about quality fights are far better than the mindless Mundine threads that get started over and over and actually debate nothing!

Bit like your posts Ash - Mundine vs. Pavlik, uuummmm, all bull**** from you still = no fight!!!

Vic actually backs up his 'power' talk with 'power' punches compared to Mandy!!!

I still stand by my questions. I rate Donaire as well and would love to see this fight made.

If Vic shows the style he used against Mijares he'd win easily. I'm worried that he may get sucked in and revert back to the one punch at a time method he showed against Agbeko. Hopefully hes learnt his lesson there.

Rojas looked slick in the first round but not so clever when he waved Vic in. Seems to be a lot of ego around in the lower weights.

Two things that are against Vic - at 34, he is actually old for a flyweight. And I think he has lost a little hand speed.

I still think he can beat Donaire in the rematch, but he will need to be mentally prepared as well as he has ever been before. As I said in a previous post...I'd be looking to get over the top of Doanaire in the second half of the fight where Nonito's hand speed should be a bit slower and Vic can ask some questions of his stamina too. I don't think Donaire is the fittest guy around.

Donaire is the real deal. The guy has amazing speed and skills. Definitely future P4P top 2 or 3. As much as I love Vic, I can't see him ever beating this guy.

Donaire seemed more interested in appearing slick in his last fight than getting the job done first and I think took a few more shots than he needed to. When he fought Vic the first time he seemed to nullify him fairly easily and Vic was loading up on the big rear hands like he tried against agbeko. A rematch is by no means a foregone conclusion but I don't think either will Ko the other and I think it is dependant on whether vic is relaxed and if donaire takes him lightly.

You know what he probably will. For all that is great about Vic he can be outboxed easily.
