The Peterson Brothers have very disappointing latley. Not because of their ability or style, but their in-ability to listen to their corner or excecuting the game plan/strategy of their corner. Barry Hunter was BEGGING Lamont to Box and use his hieght and reach advantage vs Bradley..but just stood there with NO movement and got blasted for 12 rounds. Anthony Peterson came out in that 1st round vs Rios using that Jab and Boxed Beautifully. Then he just stopped Boxing. And Hunter BEGGED Anthony to continue to Box & Box & Box...Jab & Jab & Jab. But he just stood toe2toe and tried to Bang with Rios. In this fight vs Ortiz, it's your classic "RIGHTY VS LEFTY". And I can just hear Hunter now SCREAMING AND BEGGING Lamont to Box, Jab and move to the left (technique often used vs Southpaws)...but Lamont will ignore it, then continually stepping into Ortiz's Power, and then....LIGHTS OUT!!!! But Peterson can win this fight if he does what he needs to do. Although Ortiz has gotten better since the Maidana fight. GOOD FIGHT TO WATCH THOUGH!!!
Which one is Lamont? The one who just got DQed or the one who lost to T. Bradly? I always get those two confused. :huh
The one that's actually good. :yep The one that lost to Bradley. Anthony didn't just get DQed; he got beat the **** up to the point where he fouled his way out.
Meh, both bros are at the same level IMO. Difference is the other Peterson bro went up against someone who could actually punch a little so that's why he bailed himself out with a DQ, but I don't see much of a difference in skills or ability to be honest with you. Decent matchmaking though... although it's absurdly clear that Golden Boy is trying to protect Victor's fragile chin by putting him up against another fighter who can't punch for ****.
Ortiz by seventh round TKO. That right hook is going to land and hurt Peterson who is not a bad fighter at all. I just think Ortiz is back on track.
Also, People always talk about Anthony not listening to his corner, but they fail to realize that Rios was going to be on his ass either way. Rios took his jab away by giving him no room to breathe. If I remember correctly, at the start of round 6 or 7 Peterson tried to move around a lot (basically run) and Rios was still keeping up with him. Peterson had no choice, but to fight and people fail to realize that fighters are sometimes left with no choice, but one.
