I am a Crisitian Mijares supporter so I am inclined to say Mijares would adapt and beat Vic Darchinyan. I'm not going to say that. Instead, I will point out that Cristian Mijares didn't perform anything like he has shown in previous fights when he was stopped by Vic on Saturday night. In the event that he uses the triple jab, doesn't let Vic get set, and stops crouching into Vic's lunging shots, it would be far more competitive. I want to see it.

I think Vic will win again but the fight will be closer coz Mijares will be able to adjust.

Not having enough PUNCHING power is a liability if a boxer fights the likes of Vic..

Now, if Mijares imprpoves his PUNCHING power enough to wobble Vic. Vic might change his stlye. It would be a more interesting fight. It could go either way.

If they indeed fight and after two rounds you see that there is no IMPROVEMENT of Mijares PUNCHING POWER. I believe it will be the same results.

I think Mijares could definitely beat Vic the second time around. It's obvious he fought Vic's fight the first time around and didn't even really attempt to box, just decided to slug. The thing is will Mijares attempt to box or will he again fall into the slugging trap?

Usually when a guy gets dominated like Mijares did, he loses the rematch. I don't think Mijares would be an exception to this theory.

Yes, he is definitely capable of winning if he can get his ego under control and learn from the first loss. He's still by far the more skilled boxer of the two, and the most skilled of any fighter around his weight. What was proven to be overrated was not his technical ability, but his mental strength. His ego caused him to take Darchinyan lightly, and you could see it not only in his ring demeanor, but in his lack of any kind of gameplan, or even a simple jab which had been among his best weapons in previous fights. He was out of the fight after the first round and instead of re-grouping and changing up his tactics, he went into basic survival mode and just duked it out like an un-trained street fighter. His mental fortitude was clearly overrated by myself, more flat out arrogance than confidence and self belief. He needs to learn from this loss, and if he does I can definitely see him winning a rematch.

Of course this will now be laughed at, as everyone on the internet tends to forget that that fighters are capable of improving and bouncing back, and that our perceptions have a tendancy to dwindle on the past or present, and not take into account the possibilities in the future. Noone can be sure how he'll respond to this loss, but he definitely has the ability to bounce back. Anyone saying otherwise is more than likely just immature or biased.

As much as I want Mijares to win so we'll have an interesting Trilogy. I would like you to comment on my observation about the strength of Mijares.

I did not notice that he hurt vic in their first fight. I believe Vic can take his punches all night long thus creating a huge problem for Mijares.

The way i look at it the best win that Mijares can do is win on points..

    your thoughts

I think Mijares will win on points as well. Vic's power is too great and his style too forward and unorthodox for Mijares to get anything significant going on him in combination as I once thought he could. I think if he kept his cool, stuck his jab out more, and used more of his arsenal in general he is capable of beating Darchinyan. His flat-footedness could always be a bit of an issue though, and I think Vic would always give him a hard time because of it.

I'd pick Mijares to win a rematch, if he's able to give up the bravado and really focus on what he needs to do to win. He's more than capable.

I see some people are still drinking the Kool-Aid. I guess that should be expected. Can someone tell me the last fighter to get utterly dominated like Mijares did only to win the rematch.
