That's a dumb argument, guys. Why does there need to be precedent? It's clear Mijares underestimated Vic. How much that knowledge would play into a rematch is anyone's guess. Nobody can say for sure how it would go. If Mijares were to let the first loss get in his head and try to regain some macho points by fighting the same fight again, he's ****ed. If he can be mature about it and set his ego aside and watch the tape and applies his intelligence - you'd have to be completely biased or stupid to think he didn't stand some chance.

There was nothing in that fight that suggests mijares would ever win
again. Maybe the donaire win was a fluke? Possible! Or mijares was overrated? Very possible!! And more likely the case.

Yeah, maybe if he tied his shoelaces differently he would avoid getting systematically raped and pummled into the ground. Just a small ajustment is all it will take I'm sure. Get a grip.

Mijares was not able to adjust the entire fight. Due to the unorthodox style? or maybe scared of the power he felt when it landed?. If it was the first, then i would agree that Mijares might have a chance. It can be learned after all. But if it's the latter, i believe it will be the same all over again, because if you lose it mentally, you wont have a chance.

This need not to be asked. Vic is the exact antidote to light punching MC.

What is underrated is Vic boxing ability, he's defense is underrated, he has a strange, crab-like stance and throws punches from weird angles, CM just couldn't adjust to it.

I have no reason to think the outcome will be much different.

I think if there was a rematch here that Vic is smart enough to know that Mijares brings a different game plan in and adjusts accordingly. Vic still by KO.

I wonder what will you say if Vic wins again? :yep

Don't get me wrong. As much as I want Mijares to win (for the trilogy) I don't think his skills/power is not enough to win over Vic.

You'd probably be wrong again. Mijares was totaly wiped out. There's no need to guess about what would happend, we've already seen what happened. Mijares would probably do better but would still lose.

If Mijares doesnt get clocked in the first round, that whole fight would've been different. Thats why I say that he could win

    Great post. :good

Mijares didn't utilize any of his skills that made him a unified champion. Where was the triple jab? Where was the counters, and the excellent timing and accuracy he showed against Arce and Munoz? Vic had an awkward style but he still telegraphed a lot of his punches, so why wasn't Mijares able to capitalise? Like you said, he had no idea what he was going to do after recieving the uppercut in round 1. Even prior to that, he didn't throw many punches.
