I'll bet all the V-Cash in the world that regardless of how badly Mijares beats on Darchinyan, it'll STILL be a split decision.
Can Vic impose his strength and power enough to smother nullify and frustrate Mijares greater skills? that is the key, if he can do this and land his shots Mijares will be KTFO. However if Mijares can use his footwork and skills and is comfortable in front of Vic decision Mijares. Right now common sense says Mijares Decision 75 % to a 25%
Vic's a bonehead. He thinks he can knock everybody out. But, against a decent fighter, he will be KO. I expect a mijares decision, but, a KO would not surprise me.
Darchinyan has definitely toned down some of his stupid antics in the ring. But I'm not sure he's totally comfortable with some of the caution he now employs. Plus he still has a maddening habit of winding up to throw punches. Guys who do that are so vulnerable. Darchinyan and his massive ego fell from such a huge height when Donaire knocked him out that I'm not sure he has even fully recovered from the humiliation. He didn't look like he's regained his old self completely against the plodding Kirilov. If Mijares doesn't get stupid, stays out of Darchinyan's wheelhouse, he should be able to outhustle Donaire to a close decision.
It will be a Lacy-Calzaghe/Hopkins-Pavlik style masterclass......Mijares by UD or late stoppage. He's no Paulie Malignaggi, he CAN punch. And Nonito Donaire, great punch as it was, it not a massive puncher by any means. Z Gorres also hurt Vic, and I think Mijares can too.
