    I don't think Olivares' resume is that good, he was too inconsistent for my liking.

    I dunno about the record not being that good...i think it's strong, but he maybe gets a bit of a pass at times for declining so quickly after winning the title.

    A bit of a mexican Don Curry in some ways, though his ability to still be a good world class fighter after repeated losses and at a higher weight was impressive.Pointing strongly to the fact he was fairly tough mentally and would certainly have done more if not for his partying habits.

    They are separate points though aren't they?

    I agree that he was too inconsistent, hence I think the other two more consistent men were better.

    But his resume (wins resume, as I understand it) is pretty strong imo:

    Rose, Castillo, Chacon, Ramirez, Rudkin, Gomez, Hafey together with a good slew of oldies like Medel, Burruni, Torres, Stevens and Pimentel. Arguably not as good as Saldivar's but it's up there..
