Just got done watching this fight and have never been so confused in my life? Does anyone know what happened here? I don’t speak Spanish but the ending visually does not make sense?

rounds 3-4 are missing. But in 5-6 Saldivar is taking control (by my eyes) after being knocked down in round 2.

round 7 about to begin...Saldivar dancing in the middle Luis in the corner. The ref comes in and raises Luis hand.

boxrec says Luis won by KO...but how? If Saldivar was DQ’d why? And why is it listed as a KO? Anyone know the story behind this fight?

fans look angry throwing stuff into the ring. Skip to the 14:00 point if you want to see. Any help Is appreciated

I'm sure I was on boxrec the other night and saw this as a DQ against Saldivar. I wonder if it's just wrong as there's nothing to suggest that Saldivar was stopped. He was clearly getting the better of Luis (as he would in the rematch the following year). The only thing I wondered was whether the ref thought Saldivar threw a kick at one point when he had Luis trapped in the corner. But that's a guess really - maybe someone knows for sure.

boxrec has Saldivar w/3 career losses all by KO including this one

As well as the bout info?

Does not make sense to me and hoping someone can clear it up for me.

    thanks

He was DQ'd for headbutting, the commentators say it clearly. The commentators even say that they're going to argue with the ref for it. Boxrec must have it confused as a referee stoppage.

Either way that ref is paid off

It's a shame Russell's channel was deleted. I think he had a full broadcast of this one.

He had the highest quality Saldivar - Winstone as well, with pre fight. BBC version.

The ref signals that a butt has occurred @ the 12:42 mark, then again @ the 13:14 mark, then confers w/ the commissioner @ the end of the round & a decision is made to disqualify Saldivar.

I have no idea why box(w)rec(k) lists this as a TKO ... I've always seen it listed as a DQ loss until now.
