on youtube there's a round the table interview after the first ortiz-berto rematch press conference where the new head of showtime boxing is there and he talks about ortiz vs berto being the kind of fights they want, the entertaining fights. they want to make sure that fights like ortiz vs berto and salido vs juanma which are 50-50 fights and guarantee entertainment are on showtime. they are willing to allow HBO to take fights such as bradley vs alexander, hopkins vs dawson and morales vs garcia because really the fans know that the styles won't match or they are miss matches. you might get the bigger fights on HBO but your more likely to get the more exciting fights on showtime.

 

haha i'm from the u.k so showtime hiring me wouldn't be worth their time. one other thing better about showtime is that the day after a fight you can always guarantee it's going to be on youtube and isn't going to be taken down unlike HBO who take everything down until they make their own 2 minute highlights months later.
