Anyone know the deal with today? I mean, I'm guessing the card starts at 12:30 as mainevent still says, but is there a televised card or are they just gonna dive straight into Vic/Perez?

War Vic!! KO10... Refs going to stop the fight after a Vic onslaught ;)

Darchinyan by round 5 technical unanimous decision

by Mark Vester - Boxing Scene dot com - minutes ago.

Nokia Theater, Los Angeles, California - In an IBO bantamweight championship clash, Vic Darchinyan (36-3-1, 27KOs) won a five round technical unanimous decision over Yonnhy Perez (20-2-1, 14KOs) in a fight filled with fireworks. The bout ended early due to an accidental clash of heads. All three judges had it 50-44 for Darchinyan.

Darchinyan hurt Perez with a left hand and started landing some good punches in the first. Perez started coming back with some good punches of his own. Later in thr ound darchinyan was landing some very big punches. Perez took them and kept coming. In the second, Darchinyan dropped Perez with an uppercut. For most of the round Darchinyan punished Perez with left and right hands.

Perez started to rally in the third round. Darchinyan stood in front and traded punches with Perez. In the final minute Darchinyan blasted away with some very hard left hands. In th fourth, Darchinyan looked to be getting tired but he was still landing some very bog punches. the left hand was hitting Perez flush and hurting him.

In the fifth round there was a clash of heads that opened up a very bad cut above the left eye of Perez. The doctor took one look and stopped the fight. The cut was flowing heavy.

DaVarryl "Touch of Sleep" Williamson (27-6, 22 KOs) displayed why he is stll one of the biggest punchers in the heavyweight division with a seventh round knockout of Michael Marrone (19-3, 14 KOs). Williamson's hard right hand put Marrone down in the third and the seventh before the fight was stopped. Marrone, once a rising contender, suffers his third loss in his last four bouts. Williamson returns for the first time since his four round TKO loss to Ray Austin in October of 2009.

Omar Figueroa (11-0-1, 9 KOs) battered John Figueroa (7-10-3, 3 KOs) in the second round of a one sided junior welterweight bout.

Flyweight prospect Miguel Diaz (5-0, 3 KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Alejandro Solorio (4-4, 3 KOs). Solorio went down in the third. All three judges had it 39-36.
