It would have taken place on March 2nd on Friday Night Fights, in the US, but apparently Cayo didn't like the fight occurring in the US so it's not happening. Guzman still has the FNF date and they are working on another opponent, which could get named as soon as today. If it works out, the card should be in Florida. Too bad. With Paris and Judah fighting, that fight and Guzman-Cayo would have been four top 10 IBF junior welters squaring off in the same month. Guzman has his head on straight this time and he's going to get a crack, it's just a matter of time now. He says it himself, that he still has to prove himself as far as weight before he gains the trust of the big promoters and networks.
Never putting my faith in Guzman again, mentally he's made the same way as Zab, all the talent in the world, but they lack something upstairs. Shame it's off though, I was looking forward to it.
That was a good fight, shame it fell through. Lets hope he can get another decent opponent for the date, he needs it
