Bad matchup for the Hitman. Galindez too rugged and crafty and strong for Hearns and stops him around the 9th or 10th of a fairly one sided fight.
With Galindez you can think of so many. Prince Charles Williams or even Merqui Sosa who warred with Prince Charles. Prince Charles for a guy who had lanky legs, he would put the pressure on guys which sometimes was his undoing. Then you think Prince Charles vs. Kovalev. And to be honest guys who came forward were the guys who Virgil Hill knocked out, not the ones who boxed. He would counter left guys who would lean in.. I would not be so sure Galindez would beat Virgil Hill. That is a fight Virgil could use his jab and counter hook when Galindez throws.
Victor was an absolute tank. He is too physical for the much naturally smaller Hearns. Tommy was at his best 154 and 147.
Vicious Victor Galindez was a very rugged fighter, but a very underrated boxer as seen in his two fights against Richie Kates, 1976 and 1977.He tended to have brittle skin around the eyebrows, but when he did suffer cuts, he turned into an animal. I see Victor abusing the exposed rib cage of Thomas The Hitman Hearns, with destructible body blows, this would wear Hearns out, causing shortness of breath. I see Galindez stopping Tommy, in round 9. The problem is that Victor will not be intimidated as Hearns past opponents have, because of his size, it would mean more of an open target, the lanky torso.
