Galindez by a close decision. Victor was too strong and wily himself to be taken in by that bull**** playacting crap that Hopkins is so famous for.
difficult for me to say, I don't believe Galindez holds Hopkins' kryptonite but on the other hand we're talking a prime Galindez vs a not so prime Hopkins. But Hopkins that beat Tarver is still a fine master of the ring. I'll go with Galindez on a close one. A lot of people seem to find Galindez aesthetically displeasing on film, but I just love to watch him.
Galindez would manhandle him. Hopkins never fought one of those classic unorthodox-yet technically skilled Argentinian boxer-puncher/bull rush brawlers...such a tough approach to figure out and galindez was one of the best at it. Hopkins just not physically up to the task by this point in his career.Especially against the viscious early reign Galindez, who you would really need to be able to physically discourage if you don't have big power.Galindez' crafty rolling and slipping would also be awfully tough to really crack with the right hand dominant backfoot offensive approach Hopkins would be taking. Hopkins has to focus on D more and more after first 3-4 rounds, plus conserving energy.Probably retires on his stool rather than suffer a stoppage, which is fair enough for a man of his age.
