Beterbiev is awesome but leave him out of these until he beats the crap out of everyone. I see the fight vs saad as a 50/50 depends on the night I think.
Too soon to be comparing Beterbiev to the light heavyweight greats. As for Galindez vs Qawi, it's a TERRIFIC matchup and it's been debated many times on this forum. I'd take Qawi though. Those short, accurate combos, and his relentless pressure would best Galindez IMO.
Yeah, I agree to a degree. He does look like a brute though! I think by the end of 2021 he'll be more than proven enough to be matched against guys like Galindez. Yeah I'm inclined to agree with this as well, Qawi's intelligent pressure was awesome and I think he's perfect to get under Galindez's arms and go to the body with Galindez's back on the ropes.
Viscous Victor eats Braxton up from the ropes. Middle of the ring. Anywhere .prime superanimal Galindez preKates too strong would push Dwight around.
This match would feature two very hard hitters facing each other, Victor Galindez vs Dwight Muhammad Qwai. Victor is a terrific combination puncher coming off the ropes, especially has a good left hook. Qwai has a very good defense, and can destroy a fighter with constant pressure, he hits extremely hard. Galindez knowing this, fights Dwight as he did against Mike Rossman, on April 14 1979, by not engaging and catching him with quick counters. Qwai is not fighting a shop worn Matthew Saad Muhammad here. Victor stops Qwai in round 12, as exhaustion does set in.
Wierd I don’t really think of Qawi as a pressure fighter, although he could slip into and out of that mode. I certainly don’t see him as a pressure fighter and I think his size makes people want to put him in this group. I do think his defense sometimes goes under the radar. I do think he was a great counter puncher with a great counter jab especially when we factor in size and reach. Before his fight with Spinks Braxton said of his style: “I am a counter puncher who makes people pay for thier mistakes”. Rock Newman: “people have the wrong impression of Braxton's style. 'Somehere along the line, some people have gotten the misconception that he's a brawler. He's a boxer.”
