Ah, OK. Yeah. He looked a bit familiar.


Is he as much of a scumbag as he appears to be?

 

Oh man. I just realized now while watching the replay that Vicente snuck in a vicious three-punch combo after the bell to end the 8th and final round after they'd both stopped throwing in an exchange. (just reinforcing Gonzalez's incredible chin)

Just an isolated heat-of-the-moment incident, or does he have a dirty history? :think

It was pretty clean overall for such a war, and one waged on mostly the inside no less.

 

Speaking of Gonzalez's chin...he went the eight round distance with Teon Kennedy (famed for his brutal FOTY candidate against Jorge Diaz on the Gamboa-Solis undercard)...and it took Mikey Garcia five rounds of constant barrage to get rid of him, and even then it was a referee/doctor stoppage while he was seated on his stool.

The kid is absolutely no bum, and obviously way better than his 10-7-2 record would suggest.
