I was thinkig after the first three rounds that we were in store for a really good battle...that was until Ortiz showed what a ***** he was and quit the fight...this should go down as a QUIT...he didnt even want to give fighting with the cut a chance...he made it clear that he didnt want to fight anymore....with that type of heart he displayed he will never be an elite fighter just another talented boxer collecting a check

Mexicanos haven't been showing that much heart lately. Mexicans have been wearing out the term 'no mas.' Duran should have patented it.

I think he will come back a much better fighter. You learn from your losses more than any of your wins. Lewis lost, Louis lost, etc.

No heart and not much passion for the sport it seems. Ortiz revealed a lot about himself and his lack of dedication to boxing tonight.

I was surprised by Ortiz tonight. I expected him to give it his all mentally and fight smart but he just went all out for a little while then gave up after it didn't do anything.

I gotta say, better now than later when he would've been hyped up to the point of no return with the whole country on his back.....we know now that he wouldn't have delivered at the highest and toughest stage and saved alot of grief.....forgive if that sounds too harsh but i'm sure others agree.

I agree, Ortiz dissapointed me big time tonight. As for Maidana congrats for showing heart and for the victory, I cant wait to see him fight the winner of Kotelnik/Khan

I think its more of a passion thing. He never has gotten roughed up like that before. i was shocked with what he said in the post fight interview. Very nice guy but seems he wants out.

He even came out to touch gloves in the 6th and got a hardass right hand for it.

That seemed to be the moment the wheels came off for Ortiz.

Did you miss him getting up when he got knocked down. The guy showed plenty of heart until the quit job.

Unfortunately for us he showed more brains than heart and for us keyboard warriors that is not enough!
