the mosely you are referring to was a drug-tested, steroid-free mosely. and that one shot has absolutley no relevance when handicapping the ortiz fight. ortiz is not going to only land one shot. pbf is going to get hit. everywhere. do not try and draw some sort of conclusion with the perfomances of jmm and ssm with that of ortiz.

both of those fighters were defeated before they even entered the ring(mosely-age&drug-free/jmm-weight gain).

Ortiz couldn't outsmart or outbox Peterson, Mayweather is obviously a better boxer than Peterson, therefore that leaves Ortiz with one option.

Ortiz will have to make it a fight, but he doesn't have the skills or smarts to apply affective aggression like DLH or JLC, both of them are more skilled and smarter.

The only bet would be a KO for Ortiz but those odds are slim.

Mayweasther has chosen him due to his style. If he fights like he normally does he will loose. That is left right, take one to land one. Fight first, box if nothing else works.

He needs to change things to win, the question is what.

Mayweather likes to turn side on giving him an extra five inch reach advantage. He will give you his arm, his shoulder to avoid punches. I can never remember somebody trying to dismantle his defences, everybody try to get passed them.

Ortiz needs to take a leaf out of Rocky's book and hit anything he is offered. In Mayweather case when he turns side on he has a tommy hearn reach, the only thing in normal range is his left shoulder.

Ortiz should punch his left shoulder and try to give Floyd a dead arm. that does three things, slows floyd's left down, keeps you out of range, gets to floyd, because he is the only one getting hit.

If Floyd reverts to a normal boxing stance he looses the tommy hearns reach, that little left hook becomes far harder to throw and he is in range. Floyd greatest skill is pivoting and turning side on. Yes he will still counter punch but he will have to use his feet more.

The second option for Floyd is to use his left shoulder as a lure. If he does this and you go for Floyd's shoulder and he drops it and trys to go under your right hand because it is targeting his shoulder it is six inches lower and you will hit him flush.

So I would like Ortiz to target Floyd's defences not try to get inside as everybody else has done for the past decade. The other thing Ortiz can do is double up on his punches. Not in the typical fashion of throwing to left jabs, but throwing a left jab and bringing it back three or four inches and then firing it again but turning your body so it becomes a hook. Ortiz normal left right combinations travel 30 to 35 inches between punches. That is 6 times as far to travel as a left jab, followed by a left hook.

Now it is very hard to generate a lot of power with an extend arm. The point of the second punch is it moves your head, so a counter puncher is likely to miss or not land clean. Second it will catch the counter puncher because it arrives in a sixth of the time of a typical left right. Third if you catch a guy on route to his target and help him on his way a small blow can force him to reset his feet, because he will over balance.

So the punch is designed to move your head out the way and knock the other guy off balance. Then you can go for the big right.

Have you seen anybody attempt this with Floyd?

Floyd uses his high guard when he fights lefties not the shoulder.

Most of floyds oppponents have said going into the fight they dont plan on standing in the centre and attempting to outbox floyd... But most end up doing that, that shows how well floyd can dictate a fight. Hes gna toy with ortiz

    There's no "dilemma" here.

FLoyd's gonna outbox Ortiz regardless Victor's only chance is to put the pressure from round one and not let go of the gas.

Floyd is not stopping Vicious. bet on it!

Ortiz - Mayweather is somewhat like a mini Haye - Klitschko.

-except Victor will probably actually try to win, and his feet are in much better shape.

Check what Lamont does to vic after the 3 round 2 kds for Ortiz.

Now think what a bigger and even more skilled Floyd can do.
