i agree that williams would have beat canelo. too busy, too long, all wrong. williams only had trouble with southpaws. canelo's laid back defensive style would have been easy for paul to beat.

not convinced ortiz would have beat him. especially the ortiz that loss to josesito.

Ortiz is actually a more talented fighter than Canelo but factors such as Ortiz's chin and heart issues give Canelo a clear edge in a head to head fight.

Paul would easily outpoint canelo through 12. His activity was something else, not to mention the stamina to go with it. Luckily for canelo that fight didn't happen because paul would have been all wrong for him.

Ortiz... yeah no way he would have been stopped within 6

Putting Paul Williams and Ortiz on the same wavelength is stupid and borderline racist...

Both Ortiz and Williams are too easy to hit with the straight right. Canelo has an excellent right hand, in combination and as a counter.

He'd bust Ortiz up. Williams stands a better chance due to his workrate, but he never used his size and fought tall as well as he could have. Canelo would have no trouble finding him either.

Be honest with yourself here. Do you think canelo could handle the pressure from a pwill type fighter? Like manny would say, "pressure from a tall fighter is different" I think canelo would gas around 8 because there is no way canelo could make him fight at his pace.

I never said Canelo would beat Paul, just that he'd have no trouble hitting him. The main question in a Williams/Canelo fight is whether or not Williams can eat Canelo right hands over and over. If he can, he probably wins. If not, he probably becomes more reluctant to throw, the pace lessens to something more to Alvarez's liking, and he takes a UD.

Don't forget that Williams got outboxed in his prime by Quintana, he's far from unbeatable H2H. The style matchup does favor Williams, but to act like Canelo has no chance is incorrect. Let's not forget this is a 22 year old Alvarez. He's very likely not even close to prime or fully realizing his potential.

Williams would be a favorite over the present Alvarez though.

Williams gets stopped hard and so does Vic.

You guys dont understand that Canelo can stop a fight with either hand. Williams and Vic get hit too much to deal with a hard hitting 154 pounder. Trout was a huge LMW and he was reduced to landing arm punches all fight.

I'm wondering how Kirkland with a healthy shoulder does?
