No, I'd reckon not welterweight Diaz (http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=6415&cat=boxer) Rather, the lightweight Antonio Diaz that a green Rocky Juarez beat up years ago (incidentally that fight is airing this very moment on ESPN Classic). http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=21985&cat=boxer Or maybe it is Toño. I'm not sure. :huh Either could make sense. edit: since Chelo hasn't fought since Rocky back in 2003, I'm going to say that you're right. Which means Ortiz is tackling a considerably bigger guy who's actually fought at LMW.
Pretty good comeback fight, they mean business and that's good. But can we forget these freaking catch-weight bull**** matchups? Seriously, we need to reduce divisions to 10, and if promoters would like, they'll make catchweight match-ups.
don't under rate antonio diaz he is a preasure fighter and a real good test if victor can take it after quiting in last fight . don't any of you rember fight of year when antonio fought micky ward at 140?
Why is HBO putting that Glass Jawed quitter Ortiz back on TV? Oh, I forgot he is with Golden Boy. Golden Boy and HBO hyped this kid through the roof and in his first real test he quits and admits it in the post fight interview like it was no big deal.
Being at 144 is not good news. Diaz will give him a good fight. If Ortiz loses then he will go out like Bojado.
I am glad to see him get back in the ring. He'll be taking **** for sometime about the Maidana fight, but he just about had Maidana out of there himself. And no, Ortiz does not have a glass jaw, or he would have never gotten up when Maidana dropped him early. That was vicious.
Ortiz has got to use he boxing ability. At least try and work on it. He had superior skill over Maidana, but was dragged into a hellacious fight. He is by nature agressive I think, but still could have fought smarter. Maybe he'll have learned from that fight and will come back better for it.
