    I think Molina would have been a big ask for Ortiz to return to the ring with. Gomez should be perfect for Ortiz to look good & gain some confidence whilst getting added exposure

    The only person to ever beat Gomez without having trouble was prime Cotto, when Gomez came into that fight with a broken hand and having a serious illness requiring the hospital for a few days in the middle of his training camp. At the very least the fight with Ortiz, should it go down, will be competitive.

    Ortiz is lucky that he didn't fight Molina, he can beat up on Gomez though, then lose his next fight.
