OK let's just handle it on paper then...

Ortiz 30-2-2, 23KO's WBC WW champion.
Floyd 41-1, 25KO's (41 have tried, Ortiz succeeded)
    :thumbsup

Its age versus youth. Floyd is no longer a spring chicken, in and out of the game. At 34 fighters start to feel the affects of the ageing process. The halls of boxing are littered with fighters returning to the ring once to often. The 91' Leonard comeback against Norris springs to mind (not to mention his last).

But, then Ortiz is still young and inexperienced himself, only recently claimed a world title. I'd prefer to see seasoned pro's in there, not youthful aspiring fighters. How old is Ortiz now, about 25? Still a raw talent and not a mature fighter, with much to learn. In 2 or 3 years could be a top draw competitor. Nazim's call is a bit of an overstatement, I suppose its boring if all the pundit throwns in at conservative results. Every so often someone's going to say 'Ortiz in 1'. Still remember Ricky in 6 against Pacquiao, 'pick of the century' that one.

He has certainly survived. Won at life? Only Ortiz can answer that, and at 25 his adult life just started. When he is Mayweather's age thats when he will know.

Ortiz for some reason strikes me as a naive kid. He is talented, and he's certainly better off than he was, but he's just not on Mayweather's level.

being homeless after being left by your mother and father, i guess he is much better now that he will earn at least a million dollar now compared to what he was before.

I think what Naz is saying is that victor is cut from a different cloth.

Ortiz has one hell of a story behind him, which is heart warming and touching. So Naseem is right about him winning so far in the story of life, but when he gets in the ring with Mayweather he's going to have a set back in his career. After he loose this fight, I could see him bouncing back into the spot light quickly, because he has the fight and hunger in him to motivate him.
