He steps in the ring and fights for a living. As far as I'm concerned he has more heart than you'll ever have.

At the end of the fight they show a clear replay, where ortiz's corner men sit him down he trys to get up but they push him back as clearly they dotn want him to quit but he shots at the reg my jaws broken, he quit and thats all there is to it, anyone who defends this behaviour is pathetic.

The amount of posters who are willing to fight with a broken jaw is astounding.

ESB is truly a magnet for Bad-asses.

Finally, someone with a bit of sense. I know what Ortiz did wasn't very popular, but most of the people on here haven't even stepped into the ring, never mind box with an injury. The words 'Keyboard warriors' comes to mind.

He took a beating from Maidana, heavy shots and kd on the chin against Berto, took a sucker punch from floyd to the chin, and he gets his jaw broken and now he's a glass jaw.:patsch

So Ortiz has shown some mental weaknesses in the past, maybe in this fight too, but a lot of people here must be hidden champions because seems like they can fight with broken jaw and sternum. I wouldn't call him glass-chinned either.

People on here even deride great fighters and champions, whatever boxers do its never enough. Pacquaio must be no good, 8-division champ but only fighting bums: Mayweather multiple champ running scared handpicking opponents: Lewis glass-chinned fraud knocked out by two heavyweight punches. Criticise, debate and evaluate fighters, yes. Call them all sorts of names from your comfortable position on the sofa, no.

I think he is mentally weak and hasn't got a great jaw

BUT his jaw was broken to **** last night.
Wouldn't be suprised if a doctor stopped it midway through the 10th.

Any examples where somebody has had their jaw broken that badly yet managed to continue?

Only one I can think of is Abraham, Norton-Ali? but I def would not suggest he continue. I had more of an issue with dude mindset the fouls once hes hit with a little adversity

Arthur Abraham got his jaw broken by Edison Miranda in round 4 and continued to the end of the fight. He even got the hometown decision!

Was Ortiz was stupid in this fight? Yes. Can you call a man with a broken jaw quitter?? Only if you are a sorry ass keyboard warrior who type from your mother basement and don't know what a broken jaw is.

That said, I don't think there is much left for Ortiz in boxing. Fights? maybe. But good money??? I don't think so.

Abraham never talked like Ortiz did. The kid couldn't move his jaw. There are different kind of fractures.

And don't get me wrong. If he retires today, I will not miss him for a second.
