I agree, if you read between the lines it seems as if he is unsure about himself i.e. at crossroads. Should he win this weekend, he'll be more confident going forward for sure.

    Ortiz's glass jaw > Rico's glass ****.

By the way, the fight will show whether he's mentally gome or not, not the pre-fight intervew circus.

some of you are thick as ****. the guy got stopped with a big majority of boxing fans calling him a quitter, and now you want him to say he's the best in the division even though he hasn't done nothing to make such a remark? the ironic thing is you guys probably would of moaned if he said that. like i said, some of you are pathetic.

After WATCHING the presser, I saw nothing to suggest that Ortiz is "mentally gone".

Shouldn't say he is the best, but as i said before i agree with the jist of a previous post. Basically the interview shows that he seems to be unsure of himself.

When Khan got KO'ed he for all his subsequent fights he said i WILL win, including his one v PM. That is the difference, he doesn't seem to have that confidence within himself. But obviously i am going on the interview, we will have to see during the fight, i hope he wins.

So please don't call me thick as **** for having an opinion. This is a forum after all, no need for acting like a 12 year old.

This. Although I do belive he lacks the mental toughness to be a top fighter

It's also not accurate to say he has a glass jaw. He took a helluva lot of heavy leather from a big puncher and didn't get KO'd. He quit, but he didn't get KO'd. He was honest in that postfight interview, simply saying he didn't like getting beat up like that, and now he's being honest in this pre-fight interview, saying he's not making any predictions and doesn't feel like he has to prove himself to anyone. The only thing this guy did wrong, IMO, was being overhyped by Golden Boy. He still has a chance to be a solid, championship level fighter. Despite his hype from his promotion company and HBO, he seems like a genuine guy and I'm rooting for him.

And why does Nate get a pass? He hasn't exactly been the on-the-level guy in boxing himself. He also quit in his last fight against a top 140.

You could save 100 children from a fire and someone will point out you forgot the dog and cat

The impression I get is that Ortiz seems tired of these types of interviews and
justs want to get on with the fight.

This crap is going to be haunting him until he avenges the Maidana loss!
