I really like Ortiz. Well spoken, a true gentleman, and a warrior. He's about as good a role model as I've seen in boxing for a long time. I hope he continues to improve but I don't think he is at the level of a young DLH.

haha seriously? ...Ortiz already reached the level he's gonna reach and he isn't going to get any better ever....he's one of those, realistically speaking he'll get 2 big fights/paydays and will be lucky if he's a journeyman in 3 years.

Ortiz was a baby when he went trough his loss... It was bad for him but because of that he learned a lesson and it created the man he is now today... Possesed WW champ of the world... and he is still growing at 24

He will always have that bad side in his past.. but people grow up they mature... he always had the skills but was questioned of his heart and some bad showing at times...that was the past and he was drained... his WW future will benefit him much better... he has always KD his oppnent in his last 5 fights or something.. and that was a drained Ortiz.. the new much stronger Ortiz will become a future star... and may even create problems for Canelo later. at 154 if both fighters become stars as he has the frame to do so.

..It's nice to pretend he was drained to excuse everything, im not even gonna criticize much he had a good win against Berto he fought like a man that new his career is over if he lost. Your are right about Canelo though Ortiz would beat him.

I rather ortiz as the future of boxing than andre ward. only thing they both have in common is they each can beat bebut shumenov even with the weight difference.

    Excuse everything? :blood

He was young, and was always draining himself even roach and the pacmaster called it...

People grow up, they mature... he is now the WW champ and earned it in spectacular fashion... no need to keep crtisizing him because of his young and naive days.

Yeah in the future when they are both grown up they might be creating fireworks for the fans...

I always thought berto wasn't that great, so I'm not convinced by Ortiz yet but i really enjoy watching his fights they are usually entertaining.
