They both have a lot of similar characteristics. Great physical attributes, low plan B. I think Maidana is like Holyfield was to Tyson. Just someone that will win when they match up almost every time. Victor looks great for the first 4 rounds usually. I really think Victor fought against Berto expressly pissed off. He should have KO'd Peterson also. That for him had to be disappointing as hell

Only problem is, how Berto acted in the first round against Ortiz, it would've looked more like Tyson-Marvis Frazier had Victor actually been on Tysons level.

Like Primo Carnera is to Sugar Ray Robinson.

Tyson is 88 was probably the best Heavyweight there was.

Ortiz has just beat a fighter who hasnt been in the sport for a year , and previous to that got his ass handed to him by a C grade Slugger. And you make a comparison.

How can you honestly compare Holyfield to Maidana in any context.

I am comparing Maidana to Holyfield in the Context that Holyfield would have always beat tyson, like Maidana would always beat Ortiz. It is just the way some guys Have there number. Not going to go on and on about Tyson, because thats not the point of the post. The post is ment to be Ortiz and Tyson are similar in that they both look awesome in the first 4 rounds and then quickly fade. Btw, 88 Tyson was electrify, no doubt, but beating Michael Spinks, Frank Bruno, Tony Tubbs and a 3 year absence Larry holes doesn't qualify as the best ever.

No matter how rough things may get for Ortiz in the ring, I don't see him biting anyone's ear. Tyson was a 'special' case.

Riding this Victor thing way too far, guys. Same thing you did with Maidana, and now he's worth dog ****. Pick a guy, and stick with it.

I doubt there will be as many books written about Ortiz as there were about Tyson

books are great. I am talking about fighting style in the ring. Both of them, when they landed there best shot and it didn't destroy the other guy, they both seem to have no plan b.

i was only justifying the **** comparison with paperwork.. but anyway, back to what you were saying... so what did Ortiz have if there was no plan B, as he did not destroy Berto with his best shot

victor ortiz does not remind me of mike tyson in no shape fashion or form.victor had the perfect game plan, he followed the collazo blueprint to a T.berto came in **** shape, he did not fight for over a year and when he did it went 1rd.not only that but he never fought a good fighter since collazo.then at the end of the day they just under estimated victor as a fighter and at ww but hell who didn't.as far as a plan b berto was suppose to box but his legs were gone after 1st 2nd or 3rd rd so he had no choice but to do what he did and thats fight on heart and his own determanation he just did not have the gas victor had.berto got ****ed up good, he should bounce back from this i think.cant wait for a rematch.

nothing alike? Neither of them fight and look great for the first few rounds and then fade? What happened in the Maidna fight? Peterson Fight? He was doing well and then it just went out the window. 2 fights he should have won, especially the peterson fight. I compare the maidana fight to the holyfield fight for tyson. Thats all. Did Tyson ever come off the canvas to win a fight? Just curious. He got up 1 time i his entire career from a knockdown and that was against Holyfield. No matter how many times Holyfield and Tyson fought, Holyfield would win. Just like maiden over Ortiz. Just the way it goes.
