Why is this happening? Ortiz has not fought in how long? If I was a contender at 154 underneath that belt, I be furious. If Ortiz wins, he will get a pass and they will be matching him up with the top guys like Trout, Lara, Cotto, Alvarez.
Well, it's not a mandatory defense so he can really fight whoever he wants. The contenders should only be upset if some random person jumps them in the rankings and becomes his mando out of the blue.
This seemed to come out of nowhere. I'd have to favor Molina here but you have to wonder if Ortiz wins anything remotely close. I'd guess GBP is pulling for Ortiz here and hope to match him up with Alvarez if Alvarez doesn't land a Cotto fight.
Why are people crying? I like this fight which we'll see if Ortiz can comeback to the old Ortiz that beat berto. A lot of ppl complain about berto vs Ortiz and look how that turn out. And Molina is a fighter not many top names wants to fight him so again why crying about Ortiz vs Molina?
Its happening because if Ortiz wins then there goes Canelo's next fight and he gets a belt. so then the Cotto fight is even bigger!! If Molina wins Canelo needs to fight him for reals
