It's confirmed last week i think, didn't see a thread about it, but Ortiz oppenent has lost 8 of his 10 last fights.

It's his second fight after the Maidana war but it seems like GBP aren't taking any more risks with him at the moment.

Needs to improve his jab IMO but i think he'll came back with confidence in time.

Just imagine if Khan loses to Marquez, will they be putting Khan up against oppenents like this for a while.

his confidence must be at an incredible low and GBP are doing their best to restore it

The plan is for him to fight Nate Campbell in the co-feature to Khan-Marquez (if Marquez agrees to the terms), so this is just a stay busy fight.

If Khan loses to JMM he has a BIG porblem, he won't get alot of support from the UK anymore. It will be Audley part 2.

He HAS to win or at least get a draw!

Right that's what I've read as well. If they were really scared about Ortiz' confidence, putting him in with a cagey veteran with a pocket full of dirty tricks wouldn't be the direction they'd go in.

I think in some aspects this fight defintley does have something to help his confidence, i don't think his confidence is back after winning 1 fight after Maidana but who knows.
