My thoughts on this fight (great vid BTW) If Ortiz had slowed it down a bit and boxed more he would have won 95% of other fighters wouldn't have been able to come back from 3 knockdowns like Maidana did. Ortiz was wrecking him before the 4th or 5th round. Everyone questions Ortiz's heart but most fighters would not have gotten up after that bomb that dropped him early. He shoud've been done but he showed massive balls That was too much of a vicious fight for such a puppy like Ortiz. Ortiz did quit in the end but he did everything but KO Maidana cold and Maidana just kept coming.
GREAT highlight video! I agree flexb, ortiz could have won that fight if he boxed more. But you never know whats gonna happen when you got two guys that can box AND punch. 99% + of all people don't have the ability to 1 shot KO someone with gloves on, both those guys did. On another note, Maidana has deteriorated in terms of conditioning since this fight. His fight with Cayo showed his feet have diminished to a plodding pace. Other than that I DO think Maidana has boxing ability.
