at 147 based on recent performances who wins??? It would be a great fight one of the bigger fights that can be made not involving Pacquiao or Mayweather. Anyways who would win if they fought in 2012??? I believe if they fought it would be a great bout, a war. Cotto possibly outboxing Ortiz early, while Ortiz drops Cotto at least once or twice. In the end Ortiz would be fresher and win on points in a close fight.

I'd give this match up to Ortiz. Faster, stronger, southpaw. All those attributes spell trouble for Cotto.

people would say cotto is already a spent force and took a beating from margo and pacquiao but he still has it judging from the mayorga fight. ortiz has carried welter quite good and has a good win against berto but i don't know if this is enough for him to win against cotto.

i say cotto wins late punishing the young gun by those body blows but not without a fight from ortiz.

Cotto will probably win this, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ortiz hurts him a couple times along the way.

Cotto can outbox him and outgun him.

I think Cotto's main issue is high output fighters, and I personally don't consider Ortiz to be that.

I'd take Cotto in this one.
