    One of the men I work with told me today that Victor was with his brother and several other young men on the Kansas University campus drinking and partying just days before the Mayweather fight. The man told me that his his brother got really upset with Victor and said, "Dude, are you serious. Just days before the biggest fight of your career and you are doing this"! Victor just shrugged it off and partied on. The man's brother was so disgusted he did not hang out with Victor for the days he was there but was told that Victor went to every party on campus for the 3 days he was there.

    There's a line between staying relaxed and doing something stupid.

    I'm surprised he was in Kansas, though. Most guys train up to fight week and I thought he trained out here in Oxnard.

    i gonna doubt this story. usually they are in vegas 1 week before fight. 24/7 or cell phone footage as well. too many holes in this story.

    If true, its stupid, but didnt really play a factor in the fight. Its not really a fight that came down to the wire and Ortiz's form or conditioning failed him. He looked really good in the fight, but the chips fell where they did.

    Ortiz is loony :lol: I take this story with a grain of salt but if true it just reaffirms that Ortiz is irresponsible and unstable lol

    Could be true... He was really in Kansas days before the fight? How did 24/7 not get wind of this?

    Great way to not care about the biggest fight you'll ever get if true.

    They know their audience and they know it won't sell if they didn't keep it out. Whether this is true or not is irrelevant, Ortiz didn't have a chance in hell anyway.

    It's amazing how some people think. Do you honestly think 24/7 will reveal such a thing?, the main purpose of 24/7 is to hype and sell the PPV.

    A few days before the Mayweather fight, Ortiz was in, you guessed it: Las Vegas.

    How is he in Kansas partying "days before his fight" when he arrived in Vegas on Wednesday and trains out of California? (Sept. 14th to be exact... the fight was the 17th)

    As a rule, I don't generally believe people who weren't there to see it themselves. i.e - Hear Say.

    Also, the fact that in the modern 24/7 news cycle that not a single report of this even surfaced makes me question the OP's source. Not one cell phone video, not one picture, not one "anonymous call to a news station," nothing....

    We got a picture of Michael Phelps taking a bong load, but nobody was around to snap shot a picture of Ortiz partying for 3 days? Sure....
