Victor Ortiz was drinking and partying just days before the Mayweather fight.

Living in Ortiz's hometown and training in his old gym as I do. I hear a lot of stories about the man. However, his father and a lot of his close friends and ex-school mates not to mention trainers and ex-sparing partners also frequent my place of business. Ortiz has many close friends in Lawrence, Kansas and here in Garden City that verify the facts of the story. As mad as they were about Victor's lack of dedication before this fight makes me tend to believe that a few days before this fight he was in Lawrence partying like a rock star.

Yeah, this was my thinking. People accepting this are doing so because Ortiz is a bit of a wacko. Doesn't make it true.

Yet they showed him taking a day off to go fishing?

Tom Glesby used to bounce from time to time at a bar here that I worked security at, and I can remember 2 weeks before he fought Lou Savarese, he was partying like a madman, confident he'd KO Lou. Well, as you would have expected, he gassed out and lost. When he was interviewed, he apologized to us all watching him in Texas that night.

To be honest guys, it was probably within a time frame that he was allowed to be awake, AND he probably didn't drink either. If he does his hard work leading to the fight, why can't he blow off a bit of steam at night?

    Big deal.

Chavez Jr. smoked/drank pot before a fight. Many many others have done similar.

are you insinuating a fixed game? that they just put on a show on their last fight and run with people's money?

I do agree with your points that it might not be true since surely something, at least a picture, would have surfaced almost immediately after it happened. However, I still insist for obvious clear as day reasons why 24/7 won't reveal that as it's clearly not going to help sell the fight(which is why 24/7 was created). Showing Chavez doing "**** all" is absolutely nothing compared to Ortiz dancing and slamming beers and all sorts of alcohol in a club.

Another genius comparing fishing; which is a great activity that clears the mind and gives absolute serenity, silence and patience(something boxing is all about) to slamming beers while dancing among apes in a club.
