Victor Ortiz will Lose because of his Jab

Body work is the most important thing.
Everyone tries to headhunt Floyd. He is a fighter that relies on his speed and legs. You gotta take that advantage away by body punching like Castillo did.
He tired him in Rd 5 and Floyd had to rest in rd 6 a bit and that set up the biggest shot of the fight and Floyd did not look like himself from there on.

Even when Shane had FLoyd hurt in Rd 2 he got all excited and headhunted while Floyd had the high guard and Mosley fizzled out.

 

It's not as simple as having a good jab or doing bodywork if you are there to be found yourself like Ortiz is. It's not just a matter of Ortiz finding a way through Floyd's defense, he has to deal with Floyd's offense as well in order to execute his own plan and I don't really see him doing it.

 

Ortiz has a 0% chance of pulling it off

Its not only the jab

He is not smart enough, fit enough, defensivly sound enough and he's not classy enough

Correct. I don't believe you can beat Floyd without the jab. Combo of jabbing and feints to offset Floyd's rhythm. Castillo, De La Hoya and Marquez all had success with the jab. Even Mosley in round 2 set up the big right hand with a jab to the body, right over the top. No jab you end up like Hatton or Judah. Next victim. . . Ortiz.

 

Yes, that's one of the many reasons why he has no chance. His jab is so rubbish, that he's better off not even trying to develop it or use it for this fight. Because if you're going to use a jab against Mayweather, it better be meaningful, forceful one. Not a pawing, I-don't-know-what-to-do jab, because he'll counter the **** out of it.

 

Ortiz does have some pretty good feints. I'll give him that. The way he pounces on opponents after using them, may be pretty useful for this fight. But he needs so much more in his game, to be even remotely competitive.

 

Peterson outboxed Ortiz in 7/10 rounds and he is not on Floyd level. Peterson showed the blueprint on how to outbox Ortiz. This fight will be a landslide for Floyd.

 

He will lose because Floyd is the better overall fighter.
