The reason Victor lost the first time was because he was to overconfident or dare I say "Vicious." He thought I will knock this guy out pretty quickly and he did. The trouble was Maidana was also a up in comer who can also punch and caught a over confident Ortiz by complete surprise.

The reason he would beat Maidana now is because of his new style. He learned that he can't bang it out with every fighter. Some fights he will Punch and move much like Mayweather and other greats. What is awesome is that we also know he can punch with the best of them (Knocked Maidana out 3 times) and now he is learning to move with the best of them.

I agree. If Ortiz fights smart and boxes from the outside, he should win. He's got more speed and better reflexes.

I hope they do fight again so we get to see it. Has there been a more exciting 6 rounds of boxing in the last 4 or 5 years?

would love to see this re-mach.

Ortiz would fight a very smart hit and move fight this time and wont get sucked in, i could see it being just like the Campbell fight

I've always thought this. Maidana wanted no part of the rematch for a reason.

Please, Ortiz hasn't really improved much. The right hand is still getting in(the same pucnh that Maidana landed in the 5th to basically KO him in that round). Ortiz will lose again by KO.

I dont know. His defense is still leaky. Basically what he has been doing more of now is retreating and "running". However Maidana is faster and punches much harder than Campbell.
He still did not convince me that he is over the Maidana loss. Before he would get him and just keep firing. Now he gets hit and retreats. Maidana will just keep pressuring and he will land.

Ortiz has to show better defense not retreating. Thats not really effective defense. Its a shame too cause this guy has the whole package. Pretty damn good chin too he took all those bombs from Maidana and really only went down once from a head shot. However the heart seems to be lacking. Hopefully im wrong and its just his confidence is down.

Man what this kid could be...

If he outboxes Maidana in a rematch, he'll get called a ***** for running.

If he stands toe-to-toe, he'll get sparked. Dude's in a difficult situation.
