I agree.. He still seems a lil tenative when they try to exchange.. Instead of going straight back, he needs to stand his ground and cover up better.. Campbell was catching him with the right everyime he would try to retreat back..

His boxing has looked a lot better, he just needs to get the fire back in him.. I don't see it anymore...

Exactly. He was backing up with his hands low.

He needs to tighten up his guard. And not be so tentative to throw.
Maybe its going to take a few fights but i dont see him snapping out of it.
I expected him to knock Campbell out.

I was thinking of a huge matchup in the future with Canelo but IMO Canelo sparks him. Canelo showed he has what Ortiz is lacking. Mexicanism... haha

The loss to maidana was a blessing in disguise for Ortiz.

He went head hunting in the first fight and was reckless.

Ortiz is taking his time and moving well in his last three fights since the loss.

IMO it was a wake up call that was much needed for a fighter like Ortiz who is trying to become a household name in the pro ranks.

Yes,i do believe Ortiz would win the rematch. He can easily outbox Maidana.

Soon as Maidana lands on Victors chin he will get flashbacks of the 1st fight, and might quit on his stool.

if ortiz can actually continue 2 become a better boxer.. and box he mite survive a few big shots but outbox him 2 a decision.. but to actually go in there and box isnt ortiz natural instinct to boxing.. his natural insticts are to go toe to toe just like maidana. so maidana will prolly stop him from boxing and bring oritz true self out of him then its an advantage to maidana because maidana wants to do that and maidana has more heart obvisouly .. bcuz we all know ortiz has quit in him.

I haven't seen anything at all that would make me think he's better now or that there's a difference not involving being less of a killer.

I agree! He tried to bang with maidana.... That was the wrong gameplan because maidana is a certified killer in the ring! If they fought again, vic would most likely win by UD!!! :bbb

Maidana reminds me of valero but a little slower and a little less dangerous!! Valero was the true barbarian king of the ring!!!

Maidana was troubled several times on his way to defeating Ortiz so the victory was hardly a walk in the park. According to Ortiz, Maidana was offered a rematch and refused. How else would you explain Maidana passing up on the type of payday that an Ortiz rematch would have earned him to instead fight unheralded William Gonzales and Victor Cayo?

I dont find Maidana all that special

He is wide open throws wide shots

people forget how much trouble Ortiz had him in

Would Khan lose to Prescott again...no

Would Angulo lose to Cintron again...no

Ortiz is alot better like Angulo and Khan he knows his limits adjusted his style to protect and perfect his problems
