I can't help but like this guy. He may be exactly like the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz (absolutely no brain).....and...possibly the Lion aswell (absolutely no heart)....but ....this isn't about Oz. He has a pretty exciting style and nearly ALL of his fights are enjoyable, mainly because there is a 90% chance that not only will he get put on his ass, but he will put his opponent on theirs too (I believe May was the only fighter not to be knocked down by him)? He isn't nearly the best fighter around, but he genuinely seems a good dude, and you wouldn't want to miss one of his fights Berto rematch will be great Anyone else not hate this guy for his stupid, quit-against-maidana-obvious headbutt-and-then-smile-at-the-press-conference-attitude :think
I don't hate him. Not his biggest fan either. He's just 'there' right now. He has the talent, just need to see if he can make it to the next step w/o falling on his face AGAIN. Good kid, entertaining. About all I can say.
Very few fighters I dislike, and the ones I do dislike are mainly because of their fans ala Tito and Pacquiao, but then once their fans go away or quiet down, I'm vocal about their qualities as I have done for Tito many times. Only Malignaggi I disliked...As for Ortiz, I like him, I just thought he was annoying when he was trying to make out with Floyd.
Ortiz is simply a kid trapped into a mans body, that's is simply satisfied with the money and fame and not the love of the sport, a sport that he is not built to be at an elite level, despite having the talent and the Floyd fight buildup and shanagan's in the ring pretty much wrapped up his case for me, he was smiling when Mayweather is **** talking to him in the presser, Mayweather telling him he was gonna knock him out in the 4th if he made any mistakes and he fell right into the belly of the beast, and how I could forget him cheesing while getting choked by Mayweather after the weigh in's and after getting brutally KO'ed, and I have yet to mention Madaina........... It's a shame too cause he was a star in the making, I'm surprised GB allowed Floyd to destroy their diamond in the ruff, he was one or 2 cherry picks, from beinga big name fighter, now he forever have the Mayweather cloud following him, and tainting everything he accomplished in his young career
Yeah Ortiz seems like a good guy.. Think once he settles down a bit he will be a real stand up guy. He's young mentally so he's still a bit "all over the place" at times. He's an exciting fighter and can carry his own with anyone in his weight class. Hope he beats Berto again in the rematch.
Vic "The Brick" is a good kid.. He's going to KO Berto in the re-match then on to Void! He will KO Fraud in a Re-Match!
Eh, once he admitted he was actively trying to break Floyd's nose with that super billy goat head-butt of his, I lost interest. I still appreciate the way he fights, but now I know for sure he's an idiot and probably all the things Rios said about him were true.
