I even think Khan is tight at the weight just like Ortiz was, and a move up in weight might do him wonders. His height and size is a perfect build for 147.

  2. Khan doesnt actually stand a chance against Ortiz IMO , ortiz's accurate power shots mean he wins by KO , Khan is one dimensional he cannot fight on the inside he cannot defend himself on the inside either , Ortiz has proved his chin is worthy plus khan is featherfisted , he will walk through khans flurrys , and once he lands his combinations will open khan up and set him up for a nasty ko , on top of ortiz being as fast and much stronger , i personally feel he is the superior fighter technically , the ortiz in the ring with berto WILL not loose to khan

Why do people keep bringing up Khans infighting ability when Ortiz is just as bad on the outside?

If anything this fight will be determined by who can keep distance the best, and I favour Khan under Roach's gameplan.

I think Ortiz beats Khan by tko at 147 pounds. They fought before in 03 in the amatuers but they were both kids at that time and that fight was at lightweight if i remember right. And lets not forget the amatuers are far different then the pros. Right now? Ortiz will be stronger then Khan. Yea Khan has speed but so does Berto in which look what Ortiz did to Berto. Khan has movement but i could see Ortiz catch up to him close and just beat Khan up on the inside.

Ortiz felt Berto power and still came in close to beat up Berto on the inside. I could see Ortiz do exactly the same thing to Khan.

Berto thought he could just walk through Ortiz and had no respect for his power though.

With Khan I think it will be different, he's gonna stick to the jab and 1-2, and avoid exchanges on the inside. And I genuinely believe he could pull it off.

Maybe I expect too much from Khan, I still think he has all the natural talent and skill to be a future ATG. I see a truck load of potential in him.

Would be a great fight. Victor made me remember Fernando Vargas with that fight.

Khan is no doubt a terrific fighter, and would love to see the fight.

Also: Great to see all the Morales pictures on here latley.

ortiz is not that bad on the outside. And just like crude ass Maidana was able to force action on the inside with his slow ass. Ortiz will do it with much more ease. You see how Ortiz gets on the inside too? Good feints then he bobs his way in. You can't really think khan will keep him on the outside all night do you?

I really do find it amusing how before Saturday night, Khan would be too much for Ortiz. And now, Khan has no chance.

Ok, good logic. i just don't feel Khan is very good on the inside.

    I honestly don't know dude.

Ortiz isn't so hard to hit himself though, and I still think Khan's ability to take a shot would improve even more at 147. I think Khan has the skillset to put a beating on Ortiz, at least he's developing it.

Whether or not he has the discipline to do it though is another matter.

If Ortiz can fight with the same energy as he did with Berto, then I see him upset Khan and possibly knock him out.

If Ortiz can't get past Khan's jab, taking into account Khan would be busy with it, then Khan outboxes him over 12.

    BUT...

If Ortiz can keep the fight on the inside the entire time, Khan gets really vulnerable. If Khan fights against Ortiz the way he did against Maidana, then I seriously think he gets KOed cause Ortiz is much quicker than Maidana and will catch Khan with more solid punches.

I have always thought this and can bring up old post. It has nothing to do with Ortiz - Berto. It has to do with styles. If I'm not mistaken, I believe me and you have posted back and forth about Khan a lot.

140 was hurting Victor now he can come in comfortably and use his size on his opponents.

We also didn't see Ortiz in the best, shape as he admitted he failed his coach countless times in preparation for this fight. Not many beat Ortiz at 147 unless your elite like PAC and MAY.

The 140 guys coming to 147 will see a new victor not a weight drained one.
