Anybody know some fights in which the winner really lost in the long-run?

How about Izon/Jefferson and the Bowe/Golota fights?

    Wrong Bowe fight.

Bowe-holyfield 3. Holy looked awful in parts of that fight, but got a spanking kd and damn near won. Bowe was ruined by that, only won because of the last great punch he ever thre.

The Golota fights didn't help Bowe's cause. If Bowe was finished before there isn't a word to describe what he was after them.

Golota finished what Holyfield started. I can't think of a more costly "victory".

    corrales vs castillo 1.

it was the last fight that chico won. he lost the rematch with castillo. then he lost the third fight with casa. and finally lost to clottey.

he just poured too much of himself into winning that fight. pure warrior R.I.P

I never call fighters out on cowardly acts cuz i usually respect them but does anyone remember when James Leija fought mickey ward and was cut bad but waited for the 4th rd to end than his corner started saying he couldn't fight...it was embarrassing and he stole a dec when obviously he was going to lose or at least have a very tough fight....this was right after he said he would never quit when camacho jr did the same thing to him...I have no respect for that guy
