Wow, they are REALLY thirsty for a world champ in D.R.

I guess it has been a while - the last was probably Fortuna or Payano? Either way several years ago. But still, Carlos Adames is obviously going to pick up a strap at some point, they can't just their horses and wait a little? What's another five or six months on top of five or six years? Why pin all hopes on Rosa?

 

Yep, he's a real prospect - but his ring entrance music was literally the Pacman arcade theme from 1980, so there is only so much I can take him seriously. Like, on the one hand that is kind of cool, but, it also is very silly.

 

Round 1

Saludar is keeping his left jab working doubletime from a hangar by his own forehead down into the ducking and strafing Dominican. Rosa showing quicker feet than Saludar, which follows as he's a decade the champ's junior, but flitting around too much, inefficiently, trying southpaw jabs and sailing lefts from too far out without his feet set. Much calmer and more focused work from Saludar, jabs and body shots catching Rosa caroming in.
