[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoQMpw-pKyk[/ame] Tell me what you think. Will this thing make me a better boxer? and is there anything that I'm doing wrong or need to improve?
If I suck then say so, I won't be offended. But then you could also say what I need to improve and what I do wrong instead of just throwing abuse at me. I didn't post this vid just to get attention... I genuinly want to become better. And for the moment I don't have a boxing gym anywhere near me. So I hope to get feedback and advice from boxing forums. What else can I do? I know you used to be a proffesional so I'd really appreciate if you could throw me some pointers.
I think you should really find that gym asap, you are developing seriously bad habits in your punching technique. Your punches don't end at their target, your straight right for example makes a circle, not sure if that makes sense. It should tap the target and go back in the same motion. Same goes for your other punches.
The closest gym is 3 hours away by car. I will work on what you said and start from the beggining and try to make shure I don't develop anymore bad habits. I know the best thing would be to go to a boxing gym but... IT IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE. I used to go to a boxing gym for about a year but then I moved and where I am now there is no boxing gym. I like to box and I want to box and I'm not going to quit because there is no boxing gym near me.
stop overshooting with your punches. recoil your punches back to your chin/cheeks. the bag is too high for you.
No you don't suck.... Sorry for my skeptism, i've been made a fool of too many times on here..... :good I'll have a proper watch and get back to you....
Ok.... Not terrible, Good creativity, you have an ok idea of poise and hand postioning. You need to think about the purpose of a floor to ceiling ball and the relevance to a beginner learning to punch correctly. Idealy to make any progress in the sport you simply must find a gym to train in were someone will be able to pro-actively suggest ways to improve as you learn new things and develop as a boxer. Training on a semi inflated ballon in the garage gives me no real indication of your potential- you are at a massively improtant stage of your learning process with regards to boxing. You need to learn each punch individually, then string them together in combination. It seems you are trying to run before you can walk. Your training your muscles incorrect angle postioning so in reality a lot of the training you are doing at this stage is pretty worthless and may have a counter productive influence on your progress as a boxer- having to unlearn poor technique is timely and disheartening. If you must learn on your own You'd be better served learning each punch from a proper guard postion while stationary and then progress from there. The punches you throw aren't awfully bad but there is no real snap or zip in your punches nor is there great accuracy or flawless technique. Take your time, learn from someone you trust and good luck.
you seem to lack focus or determination. like youre just "going through the motions" also turn your shoulder over to protect your chin when you punch.
What the hell is this. It looks like you stole a foetus and stuck it between to ropes and tied it to your ceiling.
