When it comes to raw, natural athleticism, GOLDEN ERA heavyweights destroy the modern crop.

Look at a guy like Joe Frazier. Do you have any idea what kind of HEART and ATHLETICISM it took to keep up with MUHAMMAD ALI? Joe was simply gifted, as were all his peers.

Todays athletes are nothing but roided up wannabes. It's a shame many old time trainers are gone and the ancient techniques have been lost.

A rare gem exemplifying the stunning athleticism of 1970's HW's is this video:

    Great adjustments by Ali.

He knows Frazier's money shot is the left hook, and he calibrates his defense perfectly for it. He does this to make sure he isn't getting hit with the SAME shot all night long.

Such adjustments are what makes him THE GREATEST.

Joe Frazier was a great boxer but a horrible athlete in all other sports. Reference the super star competions of the 1970's and he came in dead last place. Can't question the heart but today's athletes are much bigger and stronger. The worst team in the NFL would wipe out the dynasty teams of the 1970's from the Tale Of The Tape alone. It's like that with all sports. As Mike Tyson says "Each generation gets bigger and stronger"

You been pulling your pud too much. Let it go. Your sanity will eventually return.

  9. No, he's not.

He's not a natural athlete, as most Europeans aren't. That's why he's so stiff, it's because he's trying to utilize his physical abilities to the fullest, and it just comes off as awkward.

LT lawerence taylor - ray lewis
dj j - kobe or lebron
    duran - pacquiao

i could go on and on. there were some great fighters back in the day. some may have had more skill or heart but never athleticism. todays athletes are bigger better and stronger and faster.

The 1970s - an era when the east euros could not compete, forcing the very good top American and British heavy's to fight many a crap fighter while waiting for the better men to be free again, threw up awesome fights.............but A TON of god awful ones

Is it not funny that inside 10 years since the east euro heavy's came into boxing, American fighters vanish, and that Germany is the new mecca of heavyweight boxing for all the top men from Europe to base themselves in. The uk as per norm has a number of men about as we tend to do that COULD be good, that's been the norm for us all through our history in the HW division. Occasionally a guy like lewis comes along and dominates, while we have always had guys like cooper, Bruno, Bugner, Fury, Haye, Joshua etc there or there abouts.

joe frazier was humiliated on the superstars. seeing that, ali would never compete. frazier got demolished by snow skiers, soccer players, etc.
