I think you might be right - Usyk’s hesitant behaviour towards the end of the fight was strange.

Nah, doesn't look like it. Usyk already stopped punching prior to the towel.
Usyk seemed to be trying to reset before going to a final flurry.
Then he steps in to throw and got hit by Joshua just as the towel spin happened. Then the bell goes.

I found the ending of the fight very strange, AJ was literally laying against the ropes and was pretty much begging to be finished, the bell seemed to go early and Usyk just stopped. Now theres footage of the towel being waved.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it seems like Matchroom did everything they could to prevent AJ from being knocked out.

    Weird few seconds.

The towel waving is interesting, the reaction from professional boxers is interesting, the punch stats are interesting.

Watch carefully next time, from the back angle it looks like Joshua landed a baby weak right hand, but from other angles its visible that Usyk block the shot with his hand. So Joshua didnt land a s.... in there. As far as the tower, yeah this is pretty muvh for stoppage. Joshua take a huge beating in the previous rounds as well, so it makes sense to stop it.

It was a very strange ending. Usyk seemed to be holding back a bit as well.

Doesn't really matter Joshua was well beaten.

I never noticed that. Well spotted OP.
Looks to be a bonafide towel wave.

There's a good chance the ref saw it too as he was pretty much well in vision of it, he's not blind-sided.

This is the fight that just keeps on giving eh? Lol

No what happened was the bell rung and the fighters went ring centre to shake hands, then tv started the count from than.

How much better a win does it become for Usyk if a TKO12? I think saying "a lot better" might seem tempting but that's short-term thinking as 1) it could be chalked up by excuse-makers to him gassing and downplayed/written off as flukey (especially if not a clean one hit KO) whereas beating AJ on points, in London, is more of a definitive statement and 2) it would hurt the money Usyk gets in the rematch.

Imagine how quickly the ref would have waved it off if the roles were reversed
