That was Luciano Torres.

He was 45-2 at the time, but against stiffs.
He had fought Yori Boy "the last centurion" Campas before that but didn't make it out of the 1st.

 

That is insane but at least the guy is a nobody. Peter Manfredo Jnr's stoppage was absolutely idiotic. That's why I had my favourite Calzaghe fights with massive beatings and non-stop rallies of punches like against Byron Mitchell and then ridiculous stoppages based on accumulation of feather fisted slaps like against Manfredo.

 

So basically level of majority of Joes opponents :thumbsup

why did Byron Mitchell get stopped by the ref for simply slipping sideways but not fallng, but Joe Calzaghe was given a rest by the ref when he was floored by Byron? shitty cheating ref.


I mean Byron isn't all that, he was the loser of the NABF title fight so Joe shouldn't even have been fighting someone of such low calibre. He should have been given a fair shot though. In America Joe might well have lost that fight.

 

the mitchell fight was also dodgy the man could continue, but all you gotta do in the UK with Zaggers is show small signs and youre out by the hometown corrupt ref.

Whereas if Joe gets knocked down or hurt or whatever, hes let go on.

Thats why he fought at home so much of course.
His whole career and record is a dog and pony show.

No, I agree with Byron's stoppage here. The man took some 30 plus unanswered punches and everyone was about to yell timber when he took that side step where Manfredo took a whole lot of punches too but he was about to fight back when someone prevented him to and called it off. I really want to hear this from Calzaghe's serious supporters. Cause I defend my fighter Bernard Hopkins and we all know he goes beyond the rules to take the best but that is not the issue here, the issue is that Calzaghe is supposed to have had a 100% cleanout career and Bernard is simply a cheat.
