Ref should be banned. He waited too long to stop the fight. Gotta think about the fighter's health.

Hand injuries robbed Calzaghe of his power, of course the detractors who mock his "slapping style" choose to ignore this...

calzaghe's ability is never something ive criticized, but his career path is what fuels the debate about him

Hasn't he just been inducted into the hall of fame. Some people obviously think he was decent, but experts of boxing on this site do not. Hmmm

Fair enough, but his American counterparts were more or less doing the same thing. People act like Jones and Toney were going through a murders row of fighters in the 90s :patsch

jones and Hopkins ruled pretty weak divisions, but doing it on the biggest stage of all is where credibility becomes global

Why does the location of there fights make them more credible boxers?

Froch just beat Groves infront of 80k and it was ppv all over the world. Does that make Frochs win more credible than being infront of 10k with no ppv?

    you lied, wow.

didn't see this blatant lie of yours earlier - actually the only person who was knocked down was joe calzaghe. Joe then turned to the ref as if to motion him to illegally stop it because he knew he wouldnt be able to stop this Mitchell guy who had never been stopped and certainly wasn't going to be hurt by joes weakling shots.

And then lo and behold....the ref then STOPPED the fight after Byron SLIPPED, before which he was WALKING THROUGH Joe's powderpuff slaps and Joe was backing away. Bearing in mind that Mitchell was about to retire for the first time, and so was far down the list of decent opponents to begin with, and even then wasn't offered a rematch after being cheated.

Blats this was JOes first loss if he wasn't such a cheatin Sven. the earlier arguable loss to reid was much more razor thin..
