Without trying to detract from a great fight, the footage again emphasises that the thing standing between Tiger and higher honours is power.

He's got everything else. His workrate and persistence are awesome, but...

 

I think both guys had the right styles to make this a good fight...and Casey was simply younger/stronger/hungrier...although being a split decision there was obviously nothin' in it...a great story in the fact that the raw Casey wasn't givin' much chance against the veteran in Bell....I'd love to see Joel brush up on his jabbin' abit more...blokes who box more on the outside might give him abit of trouble....but the guy has a heart as big as Pharlap...that'll win him alot of fights.

 

Both these guys have hearts the size of Phar Lap IMO - particularly after this fight.

Have been a longtime fan of Tim, and just wish he had the extra bit of something (perhaps power) that might take him the next step. It's not through lack of trying on the part of 'Tiger', I'd be sure of that.

 

...maybe it's just a case of takin' one to land one...then takin' three to land two...never in a dull fight but....

....lets hpoe we see Casey/Bell 2 on telly next time.

 

That extra bit of something that Bell needs is skills. For starters, he should try slipping punches and working on his footwork and balance. Bell's only gotten as far as he has because he has a reasonable whack and was able to impose his will on his opponents; however, he wasn't able to do so in this fight. And Casey was able to land that straight, inside left all night. Somebody of Bell's experience should've trained for it against a southpaw or at least made the necessary adjustments during the fight.

Deserved win by Casey.
