Props to Bob for that though, he didn't rush JR and now it's a legit middleweight title fight. Been awhile since we had one :bbb

they avoided Marquez like the plague

first fight they thought they could walk through him and escaped with a draw

waited four years to rematch him and escaped with a split decsion

Waited another 4 years, dragged him up 2 weight classes after his loss to Mayweather and robs marquez again

shouldnt u get the **** off my dick?

"did the right thing" oh, so you're OK with protected champions. gotcha.

lets ignore the fact that Martinez was stripped for no reason and has been the #1 contender for the WBC for a long time.

Uhm and he did the right thing for Chavez Jr's career.
What else do you expect from a promoter? Do you want your promoter feeding you to other fighters? Obviously non of you guys have a professional boxing career.

maybe he did do the right thing.

so strip him of the WBC until he's ready. dont hold it hostage so the real contenders cant get their shot.

Arum contradicts himself all the time. He doesn't care about the sport. He's just concerned about his business. Therefore, he milks the **** out of his fighters and fans alike.

Arum protects every cash cow that he promotes.
I see nothing wrong with it, the only thing that makes me sick is the excuses he comes up with for not matching his cash cow with a certain fighter.
For example, when Pacquiao was mowing down welters, his excuse for not granting Marquez a third fight was, "the fight does'nt make any money, let him prove himself as a welterweight first, let him fight clottey or Berto even."

Arum already know that skillwise, Marquez was several levels above the skill level of the welters Pacquiao was mowing down.
What makes me sick about Arum is that he has to trash the opponents he's trying to avoid his cash cow fighting!

While Chavez Jr. was being "protected" he won the title from Zbik, had a non-mandatory defense in Manfredo, fought Rubio and Andy Lee (both contenders and at least one was a mandatory, not sure if Lee was). in entertaining fashion. In Those four fights Chavez has improved drastically enough to prove to Arum that he can at least be competitive with Martinez. Why would Arum risk a legitmate draw that makes him money against a guy who can't pack a ballroom or yet draw legitimate ratings.

Don't you always invoke the 'he can't draw flies to ****' argument. What happened to that line of reasoning this time?

Arum doesn't control who the WBC want to install as their paper champion
